Welcome to our first Friday 5! Every Friday, we plan to share our favorite products, activities, tips, & more with you! We will have a different theme every week. This week’s theme is self care. We could all use a little more self care in our lives, so here are a few of our favorite ways to practice that!

Chloe’s 5:
- I’ve been loving outdoor walks! It definitely isn’t happening every day, because it is winter in Kansas and I cannot do below freezing temps. But, on the mild weather days, I’ve been loading my girls up in our Veer wagon (a wagon is an absolute MUST HAVE with 2 kids) and we’ve been going for walks around our neighborhood. The fresh air is good for all of us and its an easy way to get some exercise!
- I got a Nespresso machine for my birthday this year and I have saved so much money from cutting back on Starbucks trips! I bought several flavor syrups and have been having so much mixing up different drinks. My current favorite is the blonde roast Starbucks espresso pod with cold frothed oat milk and vanilla syrup mixed in.
- I am definitely an Amber Fillerup fangirl and would probably buy anything she comes out with, but her haircare line, Dae, is actual perfection. The shampoo and conditioner has the most amazing citrus smell that stays on my hair all day long. Of course it also makes my hair super shiny and smooth, so I will definitely continue to purchase it!
- 1 word… WORDLE. Which is funny because Wordle is just that, a daily game which involves guessing 1 word! Every morning I have been waking up and doing the daily Wordle. I currently have a 17 day streak that I am super proud of.
- I have been reading so much lately and I find that I get much more quality sleep when I spend my evenings reading instead of watching Netflix. Not to say I don’t still watch Netflix… but spending the hour or so before bed reading just helps me wind down. I just started reading ‘The Silent Patient‘ and I am already hooked!

Taylor’s 5:
- Jade roller: I very recently rediscovered my Jade roller. Every night I have made it a point to spend a little extra time on my skincare routine since my son is sleeping soundly without me. A Jade roller is a great addition to make your skincare routine feel more luxurious! I love using it after applying a serum or rolling it over a sheet mask. One of my favorite benefits of the Jade roller is its ability to stimulate lymphatic drainage. I struggle immensely from allergies and congestion especially at night when I’m laying down to sleep. My Jade roller has helped to open me up so I can breathe better in addition to my skin feeling fresh! I keep mine in the refrigerator so it’s cooling when I go to use it. (Also a great combo for headaches!)
- Incommon Magic Myst: My hair has been through it from extensions and full on bleaching it for years pre-pregnancy to recent postpartum hair loss. So I’ve learned how important it is to treat your hair right and Incommon’s Magic Myst is just that – treat for your hair! I have shared before how much I can’t get enough of this stuff. First of all, it smells amazing. Like the products in the salon that only hair stylists can purchase with their cosmetology license. Second, you can’t beat the formula they’ve created to strengthen and soften your hair. I’ve used other leave in sprays that feel heavy and almost crunchy like there’s too much product. Magic Myst leaves my hair feeling softer and smoother immediately after use. A little goes a long way!
- Wordle: I am copying Chloe on this one. Wordle is SO fun! I love the sense of community it provides. It’s all of us against the one word of the day. I love trying to beat my husband even though he’s an author and I should just accept he knows more words than me…
- Sambazon Frozen Acai Bowls: My focus lately has been on efficiency as a mom. How can I meet my needs without skipping them? And one of those things is breakfast. I wake up before Camden does but need to eat something quick since I don’t wake up that much earlier. These Acai bowls are AWESOME. All I have to do is microwave it for few seconds and add toppings. It is more filling than just a banana or protein bar and it makes me feel like I’m taking care of me.
- Pilates: I started teaching Pilates because I wanted to help others feel the way it makes me feel which is strong af. I LOVE Pilates and was doing it 5x a week before I had Camden. (Pilates 3x two weeks before he was born!) Now that we’re getting into a routine I have found (and created) the time to do Pilates a few times a week. I feel so much more like myself which is nice after months of figuring out who I am as a person and mom.
