I’ve only been in the breastfeeding/pumping game for 6 months. I started pumping in month 2 because of nipple pain. To make that journey a long story short – I dreaded how much I was pumping. It was time consuming and felt impossible to pump, feed my baby, and somehow have two minutes to go to the bathroom.
For my primary pump, I have the Spectra S1 (purchased through insurance) and I do like it. It’s rechargeable so I at least don’t have to stay plugged into the wall but I still have to be seated or I’m stuck carrying around the pump in one hand which isn’t as efficient as I’d want it to be.
During this time in my breastfeeding journey, the idea of pumping almost exclusively was looming. How else could I make this less painful (in every sense) and more efficient? I had seen a few moms on Instagram posting about the Legendairy Milk collection cups so I waited anxiously for them to come back in stock.
Once they did, I ordered a set and a Baby Buddha pump to accompany my new on the go pumping journey. You can find my review about the Baby Buddha pump here.

Not to sound too dramatic but this was life changing. I can pump while walking around the house. I can pump while out and about. I can pump while bottle feeding my baby. I no longer had to stop and sit in one spot while pumping. I no longer dreaded when it was time to pump.
Here are the big pros about the cups:
- Very comfy. The silicone is awesome and has made me consider getting silicone flanges.
- Easy to clean. All the pieces are easy to disassemble and clean. I usually soak them with warm water and Dapple soap. It isn’t recommended to put them in a sterilizer in case the parts get warped.
- Easy to travel with. I keep them in a cute boob bag from @bemybreastfriend. It takes up hardly any space that I can throw in my diaper bag or a tote bag when I’m out and about.
I’d hardly consider these “cons” but here are some of the struggles I’ve found personally:
- The duck bill is clear and tiny. I bought a back up pack of duck bills because inevitably we’ve lost at least one of these. (I say we because I am grateful for my husband who cleans my pump parts when I’m exhausted but I have a suspicion it got dropped down the disposal…)
- They can leak. I’m not talking about if the edges aren’t sealed. When you remove the cups, it’s best to keep them tilted rather than placing them down on the counter because milk can spill out where you just pumped it through. I’ve had this happen a couple of times before I learned not to let it go level after pumping. Not a huge deal but something to keep an eye out for.

The cups are sizable. I was a D cup pre-pregnancy/breastfeeding. I’ve never had small boobs but never had an especially large chest either. These are very visible when I’m wearing them. The only way I could get them to “blend” in a little more is by wearing a sweatshirt. My family jokes and calls them my “Dolly boobs” which I’m not mad about, ha!

I use 21mm flanges with my Spectra. I got 21mm Maymom inserts but felt they were doing more harm than good so I went back to using the cups without the inserts. I still feel like I get a good amount of milk flowing even though the cups are 24mm.
I’ve only tried these with my Babby Buddha since the point was to be mobile. I don’t know that I will try these with my Spectra in the future.
I would 100% buy these collection cups again. Although I’m not exclusively pumping, it’s so nice to have these as an option. I often give Camden a bottle when we’re out running errands and I’ll pump on the go instead of stopping to nurse him.
I purchased these before Legendairy Milk came out with the Imani i2 so I didn’t have that to consider and compare it to.
